Automatic Connection

ONE Control Pro 1.2 introduced automatic connection to MIDI Network session. If you prefer to connect manually or if you use ONE Control DAW Edition (which doesn’t have this feature), see Manual Connection at the bottom of this article.

MacOS

  1. On your Mac, open the Audio MIDI Setup App

  2. Open the MIDI Setup window (Cmd-2)

  3. Open Network Setup (the Globe icon)

  4. Create a new session by pressing the + button under Sessions panel

  5. Give a name to the session. Insert the same name in the field Bonjour Name

  6. Select Everyone in the pop up menu “Who may connect to me”

  7. In ONE Control open the Global MIDI settings

  8. Tap Edit to change the current configuration

  9. Select the Session previously created from the list of available MIDI Network Sessions

Windows

  1. Download and Install rtpMIDI

  2. Open rtpMIDI

  3. Create a new session by pressing the + button under Sessions panel

  4. Give a name to the session. Insert the same name in the field Bonjour Name

  5. Select Everyone in the pop up menu “Who may connect to me”

  6. In ONE Control open the Global MIDI settings

  7. Tap Edit to change the current configuration

  8. Select the Session previously created from the list of available MIDI Network Sessions

After the automatic connection is configured, every time you open a Controller, ONE Control will connection to the specified Network Session.

You can create more that one session, and configure each controller to automatically connect to a specific Network Session. This might be necessary if you use the DAW Controller and at the same time you want to control plugins. For more, checkout this article.


Manual Connection

MacOS (Wi-Fi)

  1. On your iPad open ONE Control

  2. On your Mac, open the Audio MIDI Setup App

  3. Open the MIDI Setup window (Cmd-2)

  4. Open Network Setup (the Globe icon)

  5. Select Session 1 ,or create it by pressing the + button under Sessions panel

  6. Your iPad should be listed in the directory panel

  7. Select your iPad and press Connect

  8. In ONE Control open a Controller

  1. On your iPad, open ONE Control

  2. On your Mac, open the Audio MIDI Setup App

  3. Open the Audio Setup window (Cmd-1)

  4. Connect your iPad by pressing the button near it in the list of available Audio devices

  5. In ONE Control open a Controller

  6. Enjoy!

 

MacOS (Bluetooth)

  1. On your iPad, open ONE Control

  2. Open ONE Controller MIDI Configuration (via Settings icon in the main screen or via the Info button inside each controller)

  3. Select Bluetooth Configuration

  4. Enable Bluetooth Advertising

  5. On your Mac, open the Audio MIDI Setup App

  6. Open the MIDI Setup window (Cmd-2)

  7. Open Bluetooth Setup (the Bluetooth icon)

  8. Press the Connect button near your iPad in the list of nearby devices

  9. In ONE Control open a Controller

  10. Enjoy!

 

Windows (Wi-Fi)

  1. Download and Install rtpMIDI

  2. On your iPad open ONE Control

  3. On your PC, open rptMIDI

  4. Select Session 1 or create it by pressing the + button under Sessions panel

  5. Your iPad should be listed in the directory panel

  6. Select your iPad and press Connect

  7. In ONE Control open a Controller

  8. Enjoy!
