Which Edition is Best for You?
We always want what we can’t have! Get the Essential plan for Free and you might just find what you need!
Spring Sale is Here!
If you are certain that you would only want to control your DAW with ONE Control, then the DAW Edition makes sense for you. If you get confused (or tempted) by having more choices, it might also be a good decision.
ONE Control Pro includes all the features you’ve read about (DAW, modular, and Launchpad controller). And once you’re in, you’re in: free inclusion on all our updates… And we’ve got a LOT planned!
Do bear in mind that the PRO edition is currently priced so cheap that the extra change provides you with a huge amount of growing room: All Mackie features, super controllers for many effects, creating MIDI controllers, Launchpad replica, and more.
Quick F.A.Q.
What is Mackie Control Universal (MCU)?
Mackie Control Universal (MCU) is a protocol designed to allow tactile communication between hardware controllers and various Digital Audio Workstations (DAW).
It is a popular choice among music producers and engineers who prefer the tactile feedback and precise control provided by hardware controllers.
MCU control includes all the commands you may need in your workflow with no extra bells and whistles that you don’t need!
A Physical Control Surface?
Using an MCU Control Surface allows you to work faster, freeing up your mind for more important things. Less memorising, simply put your finger on it.
With a physical Control Surface, you would have less strain on your eyes. And you can also do things like move multiple faders at once speeding things up.
Using an external controller is healthy due to its ergonomics. It encourages more motion, which helps prevent problems like tech neck and carpal tunnel pain.
All in all Control Surfaces are great. Yet, they can be very expensive and take up a lot of space, like the flagship Mackie Control Universal Pro, for example, runs around €1,200 ($1,300) and it gobbles up a lot of desk space.
An iPad as a Control Surface?
Why We Made It.
With ONE Control Pro and DAW Edition, you can control your DAW with your iPad. It’s a snap to set up, and it will ease your workflow in ways you would not have imagined.
But you’ll find that DAWs like to customise the functions of the buttons a bit. If you have a physical Control Surface like the Mackie Control Universal Pro, that means you either buy an overlay for your DAW or get out your tape and pen.
However ONE Control Pro and DAW Edition have customised labels built into our MCU controllers. This means you can see exactly what a certain button does. And if you want a cheat sheet to remember what a buttons does or a list of its alternate functions when you press Shift or another modifier, well you get that too!
